Parent Participation Meeting

Tuesday, November 6

6:30pm, Room 204

Valley Christian Church, Cedar &Glacier, Lakeville

All leaders and parents are invited to attend the monthly Parent Participation meetings. Please join us and contribute your ideas/comments/suggestions. We can all work together to make our Pack bigger and better.

November Pack Meeting

Friday, November 9

6:30pm

Cherry View Gyms

Get ready to blast off at the Cub Scout Space Derby! Scouts will test their rocket skills with fun balsa rockets. Families will pick up rockets from their den leaders approximately one week before the event so that scouts can prepare the rocket for launching.  After the awards are presented, scouts will go to the gyms for 1-2-3-Blast off! Parents will remain in the Commons to learn more about:  Polar Camp, Summer Camps, and Friends of Scouting.

 

**Important Camp Information: Polar Camp fees need to be paid on 11/9. Summer Camp registration is also due on 11/9 and requires a non-refundable deposit of $25 for each scout and $25 for each parent attending. Please contact Liz Tremblay prior to 11/9 if you plan to go to camp but cannot attend the meeting.

 

Boy Scout Troop 111 will sell concessions! This is a troop that many of our scouts bridge to after Webelos. Please help support their activities by purchasing the fantastic treats they provide!

Please remember: Scouts are required to wear their full Class A uniform to receive awards.

 

 

December Roller Skating Fun

Thursday, December 6

Skateville in Burnsville

6 – 8pm

This is always a pack favorite –parents and siblings love to skate, too! The pack pays for the entrance fee for all scouts. Concessions and skate rental are available for a fee. Helmets are highly suggested!

Computer Projection Screen - The Pack is looking for a computer projection screen for our annual Join Scouting Nights and Pinewood Derbies. We only need to borrow this 2 times a year! Please contact Cubmaster Don if you know of a resource we can use.

 

 

Pinewood Derby Track Rental Information.

 

 

 

Pack Storage Needed - Storage is needed for the Pack’s Pinewood Derby track. This item has been in our newsletter for many months. We really need to work together to find a solution to this problem!! Please contact Don or Kathy Baklund for info.

19 New Scouts - Welcome to the Pack! Thank you to all scouts, leaders, and parents for their hard work at Join Scouting Night, and for sharing their interest in Scouting with others.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Scouting for Food – wow! The Pack collected a trailer full of food for the Lakeville CAC – way to go! We estimate it was over 1,200 lbs, and CAC was overwhelmed by the Cherry View neighborhood’s generosity. Thank you Den 89 for organizing the event and delivering the donations!

 

Fall Camp Out We had a great night, full of fun, football and...of course that nighttime mooing! It was wonderful to have so many new families with us. Thank you to Den 89 for the great breakfast!

 

Scout Cub Credits – Families can contact their den leader to find out their scouts Cub Credit Balance. Den leaders have copies of transactions to distribute to each scout family.

 

 

BALOO Trained Leader Wanted:

Do you love camping? Then this is for you! The Pack always needs a BALOO trained leader in attendance when the pack is camping. Our BALOO trained leaders are moving on to Boy Scouts in February! The Pack is looking for 2 or 3 parents willing to take this fantastic training so that the Pack can continue to enjoy our great campouts. Please contact Cubmaster Don to learn more about BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) and when it is offered. What a fun way to support the Pack!

 

RECALL! We are sorry to report that the Wolf/Bear totem has been recalled nationwide due to lead paint. Please return it to Kristen VanDyke. Hold on to your cords and progress-toward-rank beads. v     Roundtable: November 13. This is a great opportunity for leaders to network, find resources, and stay informed.

v     Cubmaster will deliver space derby kits to Den leaders if you haven’t already received them from him.

 

Training:

 

v     Have you completed your Fast Start and Basic Training? Just go to our pack website and link through Resources.

 

v     Oct 20 – Leader Training, Prior Lake Library, Registration opens at 8am. New Leader Training, 8:30am; Youth Protection Training, 11:30am; Leader-Specific, 1:00pm.

             

v     Oct 27th, Saturday – University of Scouting,
