Text Box: Hello to all Pack Families from the Committee The date is fast approaching that we will no longer have a Cubmaster. The Pack is not allowed to meet if it does not have this position filled! The 4th grade Webelos will be leaving the pack in just a little over a year, so we really look to the Bears, Wolves and Tigers to fill the position. So the bottom line is this: The Pack needs you to take on this roll of leadership now, while the interim Cubmaster is still with the Pack. Do you travel or work long hours? How about getting your friend to be the assistant Cubmaster! A partnership would allow you great flexibility. And think how happy your son will be to see you in front of the crowd, leading the Pack! Our boys deserve the best our families can offer. Please think about a 1 – 2 year commitment! And a note about Committee Chair: Kurt will be leaving the Pack in February 2010. Seems a long way away, but it is just over a year! So please consider this position soon. Working with Kurt for a few months will greatly benefit the transition to new leadership. Again, we look to our current Bears, Wolves and Tigers to fill this position – moms and dads both welcome! *Urgent and hot off the presses: the Pack needs a Friends of Scouting representative! Pack Events

 

Raingutter Regatta – Friday, November 14

Cherry View Elementary Gyms

 

Set sail for fun!  Our annual Raingutter Regatta is a crowd pleaser. If you have not received your boat kit yet, please contact your Den Leader.

 

**Important:  Varsity Photos will be taking Den photos this night. All scouts need to be in uniform! Packages will be available for purchase.

 

Payments for Polar Camp will be due this night.

 

 

Salvation Army Bell Ringing - Saturday, December 6

Cub Foods, Cedar and Dodd, Lakeville

 

This is our annual bell ringing service project. Dens will sign up for 30-minute timeslots.  Watch for more information on times available!

 

Roller Skating – Tuesday, December 9

Skateville in Burnsville

 

Roller skating fun for the whole family! Watch for information on fees for parents and siblings (scouts are always paid for by the Pack). Please bring an unwrapped teen gift for Toys for Tots.

 

Parent Participation Meeting - Thursday, November 20, 6:30pm at

All Saints Church Staff Room, Holyoke Avenue, Lakeville

 

All parents of Pack scouts are invited to participate in the planning of pack activities – please join us at these monthly meetings as we organize events for the boys and our families.

 

 


News and Updates

 

 

v       Polar Camp payments are due at the Raingutter Regatta, November 14.

 

v       New Date for Blue and Gold! Please change Blue and Gold date to February 27.

 

v       Wreath Sales are looking great!  Final numbers coming soon.

 

v       Thank you to Nancy Carlson for taking the Treasurer position. Three cheers!!!

 

v       Gander Mountain gives scouts 10% off of items purchased for scouting. Just show your scout identification card at check out.

 

v       Parent Participation Meeting - All parents are invited to attend the monthly Parent Participation meetings. Please join us!!  Check your calendar for dates.

 

v       The pack families had a great time at the Camp Out – a little soggy in the morning, though! Who could imagine that morning rain with the beautiful clear night we had!

 

Help Wanted!!

 

v      ***Position needs filling ASAP!!*** Cubmaster is in IMMEDIATE need of filling.  Kurt is willing to take the Cubmaster position if you are interested in volunteering but would feel more comfortable as Committee Chair (this could be a great position to job-share with a friend!).  Our pack cannot continue to operate, by BSA bylaws, with these positions unfilled.  Please consider stepping up and helping lead our Pack – We need you now!

 

v      Help Wanted:  The Pack is in need of a Hospitality Coordinator.  This job is easy and fun. Organize the Pack nametags and assist with food and beverage for Pack Meetings. Just a little work, but a big reward! Contact Kurt for more info.

 

v      NEW!! – the Pack would like to raise some funds to pay for pack storage, so will be offering snacks for purchase at 4 of our pack events (Kick-off, Regatta, Cubstruction, and Carnival).  We need a Concession Coordinator to make this possible. We can get started as soon as we have a volunteer!!

 

v      Newsletter Editor is willing to take Hospitality or Concessions if someone else will take Newsletter. Please contact Maribeth at gmercc@frontiernet.net.

 

v      URGENT! The position of Friends of Scouting needs to be filled ASAP!  This position is not time-consuming: prepare FOS sheets for Pack families, address families about the need for their donation, and explain how the donations benefit the Pack and the Scouting organization.  TRAINING for this is Tuesday, November 11 from 6:00pm – 7:00pm – just one hour!!  It is at Messiah Lutheran Church at 16725 Highview in Lakeville.  Please contact Kurt right away!!
