Advancement and Campout will be at Cleary Lake Reserve, Oak Grove Campsite; Pack meeting will begin at 7:00 pm, but
families can arrive as early as 3:00 pm.
If you are staying overnight
please give a headcount to your den leader
by May 25.

Council Pinewood
Saturday, May 31 – Sunday, June 1
Mall of America
On Saturday,
the green flag drops at 1:00 pm to start the Northern Star Council Pinewood Derby
Championship. Imagine one of the largest Boy Scout Councils in the
country conducting the largest pinewood derby race in the country at the
largest mall in the country! How cool is that?
On Sunday is the Open Competition!
Any current or former member of the BSA or GSA, youth or adult and their family
members can bring a car down to the Mall for competition. There will be race to
determine the fastest car and judging for the “Coolest Looking”, the “Most
Realistic”, “Best Paint Job”, etc. Registration / Qualification Opens at 10:00
am.; Closes at 1:30 pm. Race is at 2:00 pm.
Congratulations
to Brett Branscombe for his 2nd place finish, and Good Luck at the
Championship!!
Pack 268 will again care for the
CVE Nature center during the summer months. We made such a difference last
year, and our efforts were much appreciated.

Saturday, July 19, 9:00am – 1:00pm
Food, Fish and Fun! A scout
and family favorite, with fishing contests, sandcastle judging, and always delicious
potluck dishes. In an effort to reduce bee stings, we are trying the Annual
Fishing Derby in July.

Come out for an enjoyable
evening at the pool. Lifeguards will be on duty. Please bring a potluck item to
share. A date has not been set yet, but will probably be in August.

Recruiting
Carnival – What a fun night! Thank you to all the Dens for the
great games and prizes, and to the CVE Girl Scouts for helping with
concessions. We had 11 potential scouts come the carnival, and 6 have already
signed up as new scouts – Great job recruiting!

Clean-up Day - We had a smaller group than usual (District
Derby, Baseball Try-outs...), but with great weather and hard work we got a lot
done. Thank you to Deon Lausche for
helping to organize the group.

Sales – Despite cold and rainy weather, the unloading
and pick up of flowers went great. A big bouquet of thanks goes to Bob and Janene Haugen and Scott and Bridget Oslund for
coordinating flower sales!

are invited to attend the monthly Parent Participation meetings. Please join
